About Maureen Boyd Biro

I've always embraced a lyrical approach to life, looked for the music, poetry and grace in each experience, regardless of how light or dark that experience may be.

I discovered my first creative joy in the world of words, captivated from an early age by the power of story.
I've worked in nearly every aspect of writing and publishing - as a freelance writer, editor, columnist, bookseller, associate publisher, children's book author, novelist, and now memoirist - reinventing and challenging myself to seek new opportunities. Lyrical definitely describes my writing style. This same yearning towards grace is what pulled me to dreamwork,  my passion and calling.

Dreaming and writing are both journeys of discovery. Helping others to make their own discoveries and supporting them on their journeys  is what I do and why I am here.

"Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake."  - Henry David Thoreau
There aren't many things I 'm as passionate about as dreaming and writing, but my wonderful family, nature, music, friends, the mysteries of space, and the many animals I've been fortunate to know and love would definitely be on that list.

The Animals in our Lives and Dreams

"I think we dream so we don't have to be apart for so long. If we are in each other's dreams, we can be together all the time."

When our beloved pets depart, it is a unique sorrow. The one dream people will often tell me they remember, even if they insist they don't dream, or don't recall their dreams, is a visit from a loved one or a  pet who has crossed over. These dreams can be deeply healing and comforting. I believe they are visits and receiving one is a great gift.  Helping others to seek, embrace and understand such a dream visit is a special part of dream work for me.

Animals are excellent teachers. It's important to pay attention to the lessons and messages they bring us in dreams. Listening to my dreams has frequently alerted me  to health issues my pets  faced. The wonderful vet who has long cared for my pets never hesitates to ask me, "What did you dream?"

There are  pets who choose to be with us for a particular journey and speak to us in dreams. Scout was one of these.
